Hybrid Transaction / Analytic Processing (HTAP)

In 2014 Gartner coined the term HTAP, for Hybrid Transaction / Analytical Processing, to describe the new generation of data platforms capable of performing both online transaction processing (OLTP) and online analytical processing (OLAP). IBM offers two unique solutions, the IBM DB2 Analytics Accelerator (IDAA) for System z and DB2 BLU for Linux/UNIX/Windows that deliver this hybrid approach.

While many organizations, as a best practice, have replicated transaction data to create separate systems for analytic workloads, with technology advances it is now possible – as well as more efficient and less costly – to maintain one master data copy and run both workloads together.

The HTAP series of webinars and presentations are designed to help organizations understand and embrace this new approach.
