My colleague, Kim May, Vice President for Business Development of The Fillmore Group, has been named an IBM Champion for 2016.  Kim’s IBM Analytics community outreach includes:

• blogging at www.thefillmoregroup.com/blog
• serving as a member of the board of directors of the Baltimore/Washington DB2 Users Group
• hosting webinars and workshops covering a variety of IBM Analytics topics such as IBM DB2 Analytics Accelerator (IDAA) and Cloud Data Services (CDS)
• advocating for formal training through the IBM Global Skills Initiative
• and presenting the now-legendary TFG Monday evening soirée at IBM Insight in Las Vegas in October

Congratulations to longtime colleague, Joe Geller, for being named one of the newest IBM Champions.  Joe currently is deployed at a worldwide Top 50 integrated financial services institution.  Joe is the go-to guy for DB2 for LUW performance tuning for an online banking application.

That brings to four – including Joe – the number of IBM Champions affiliated with The Fillmore Group:

The Fillmore Group’s Kim May has been named an IBM Champion for the 5th straight year.  Click here for Kim’s developWorks profile.  Kim has been especially active in the IBM Information Management (IM) Regional Users Group (RUG) community.

• Kim serves on the board of the Baltimore/Washington DB2 Users Group.
• She has initiated a series of Virtual Users Groups covering topics like DB2 Connect and Q Replication.
• Kim is working with the IBM IM community in Columbus, OH to restart the Users Group in that region.

Kim has recently collaborated with IBM Education to deliver the first public Big Data classes on BigInsights and InfoSphere Streams.  These will be appearing on TFG’s 2H13 training schedule.

• presented at the IBM Information on Demand (IOD) conference in 2010
• run the DB2 Connect Virtual Users Group since 2010
• hosted luncheons to help existing IBM customers understand the breadth of the IBM Information Management software portfolio since 2011
• blogs and tweets on a regular basis

The Virtual Users Group (VUG) approach has been so successful in fostering community in the DB2 Connect domain that three new VUGs will debut in 2012.  Watch this space and, if you get a chance, extend congrats to Kim.
